Well hello there. So here is my take of traveling in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is quite similar to Singapore. Just more crowded, hot, and more organized when it comes to the punctuality of transportation. The trip was great because it was the first time I travelled with Shitong. Plus I had get as many inspiration from Hong Kong to do a work for an upcoming exhibition.
The view was scenic, like something you would see in New Zealand! Just that the weather was uber humid.
The first thing that we did was get an octopus card which cost around $150 HKD. And a sim card. You can get your sim card almost anywhere but I got it from Noble Time at the air port because they install your sim card for you plus there isn't any queue like in 7-11.
We took a train to our hotel because it was cheaper to take a train instead of a taxi because there is only two of us and our luggage bags were pretty empty.
The train ride was until central, We had to take another train to Tian Hou in order to reach to our hotel.
The whole train ride trip cost $100 HKD. But if you take a taxi it will cost around $350 HKD.
My hotel was name was Butterfly at Victoria. It is a 4 min walk from the MTR station. VERY VERY convenient. It is a boutique hotel. Don't expect anything fancy like a bath tub or a sofa because the room is very small. The price is good though. I stayed with my mom through out the trip as for Shitong he stayed at his sisters house.
After settling down at the hotel, we went to the library which was near my hotel. Victoria peak is also very near to Butterfly Hotel. The library is 10 times better than Singapore's library. The books they bring in are far better than the ones in Singapore. Plus you can rent toys for you children to play! How cool is that. After the library trip, my mom and I went to eat dim sum around my hotel which wasn't that nice. But thats all for day one
